Upcycling – Using an empty cookie box to wrap a Christmas gift

On December 8, 2011 by Mei

This year, one of my sisters bought this cute little gift for our nephew. (I can’t tell you or show you in case my other sister sees what it is on my blog before they open it.)
I get to wrap it because well, I’m the crafty one now and I don’t mind.

I wanted to wrap this lovely oh it’s so adorable gift in something other than gift bags and I also want to keep recycling/upcycling/reduction of garbage in mind. You know, be GREEN.

So I found a nice cookie box (it’s empty of course) and cleaned out any grease or crumbs with paper towels and started fitting the gift into it.
Results? I love it!

Supplies used:
empty and clean cookie box
colored tissue paper
holiday gift labels
poka dot washi tape
Santa ribbon

So if you’ve got some gifts to wrap this year, don’t go buy gift boxes, make your own! It’s more fun that way too. :)

PS. If you knew what the gift is, you’ll understand why I used this cookie box. LOL
