Is Bamboo a type of wood?

No. It may be a surprise to you but bamboo is not wood but a species of fast-growing grass.
Bamboo is known for its eco-friendly nature alternative to wood because it does not need fertilizers or pesticides to grow. Its density makes this material water-resistant which inhibits the growth of germs and bacteria!

Alternative to wood & eco-friendly bamboo

Bamboo is not just popular with Pandas. They are widely used for culinary, medicine, construction, textiles, paper, and musical instruments just to name a few.

Today, with such a huge push for ‘Green” or eco-friendly products, bamboo is the material of choice for makers and consumers from all over the world.

As for my laser engraver, I love the results of the engraving using bamboo medium. The depth and the quality of each etch is wickedly clear. This is my current medium of choice ladies and gentlemen.
